His father Israel, also called Jacob loved Joseph more than his other sons, because Joseph was born after Jacob was very old. So one day Jacob made Joseph a special rob with long sleeves.
Joseph`s brothers saw that their father loved Joseph more than he loved them. Jacob`s other sons hated Joseph and would not be friendly to him. One night Joseph had a dream and told his brother about it.
"Listen to this dream I had. We were out in the field tying bundles of grain together. Suddenly my bundle stood up, and then your bundles all gathered around mine and bowed down to mine." His brothers said "Do you think you are going to be a king and rule over us?" And then they hated Joseph more than ever because of his dreams and what he had said. 야곱은 그의 아버지가 살았던 가나안 땅에서 살았습니다. 야곱의 아들 요셉은 그의 형제들과 함께 양떼를 치고 있었습니다. 야곱이라고도 불리는 그의 아버지 이스라엘은 그가 늙어서 요셉이 태어났기 때문에 다른 아들 보다 더 많이 요셉을 사랑했습니다.
그래서 어느 날 야곱은 요셉에게 소매가 긴 특별한 옷을 만들어 주었습니다. 요셉의 형제들은 그들의 아버지가 그를 보다 요셉을 더욱 사랑하는 것을 알게 되었고 요셉을 미워하여 그에게 친절하지 않았습니다.
어느 날 밤 요셉은 꿈을 꾸었고 그것에 관해 형제들에게 말했습니다. "내가 꿈 꾼 이 꿈을 들어보세요, 우리가 들판에서 함께 곡식단을 묶고 있었는데 갑자기 내 단들이 서고 형들의 모든 곡식 단들이 내 것 주변에 모여 절을 했습니다." 그의 형들은 말했습니다 "네가 우리의 왕이 되고 통치할 것이라고 생각하느냐?" 그 다음 그들은 그의 꿈과 이야기로 인해 요셉을 더욱 미워하였습니다. 박요섭목사(교회영어연구원)
