What is this good news?
The good news is that Jesus Christ died on the cross to save men from sin and death.
So Jesus is proof that God wants all people to be saved.
Those who believe this good news can live for eternity with God.
And those who believe in Jesus must always retain this good news.
Jesus Christ is the only one mediator between God and man.
He is the only one who represents us before God’s throne in heaven.
We can receive forgiveness from God through Jesus, His one and only Son.
This is “the good news”.
There is only one God and one Mediator who reconcile God and people. He is the man Christ Jesus. <1 Timothy 2:5> 복음은 좋은 소식을 의미하는 그리스어이다. 이 좋은 소식은 무엇인가?
그 좋은 소식은 예수 그리스도가 죄와 죽음에서 인간을 구원하기 위하여 십자가에서 돌아가신 것이다. 그러므로 예수님은 하나님께서 모든 사람을 구원하시고자 하시는 증거이다. 이 좋은 소식을 믿는 자들은 하나님과 함께 영원히 살 수 있다.
그리고 예수님을 믿는 사람들은 항상 이 좋은 소식을 마음속에 품고 살아야 한다. 예수 그리스도만이 하나님과 인간 사이에 유일한 중보자이시고, 천국 보좌 앞에서 우리를 대변해 주실 유일한 분이다. 우리는 하나님의 독생자 예수님을 통해서만 하나님께 용서를 받을 수 있다.
이것이 바로 복음이다. 오직 한 분이신 하나님과 인간을 화친하게 만든 유일한 중보자가 있다. 그 분은 사람이신 예수 그리스도이다. <디모데전서 2:5> 박요섭 원장(교회영어연구원)
